Photovoltaic power generation employs solar panels comprising a number
of cells containing a photovoltaic material. Light falling on the
panels provides Electricity. This is fed into the Household Electricity
system for use within the house, or
exported to the grid. Payback and Feed-in-Tariffs
(FITs).
At the moment your energy provider will pay £0.43p per kWh produced,
guaranteed until 2035, this can be used by the household or exported.
If used internally it further saves 12-15p for the kWh it replaces.
An average installation costs £10000 for a 2kWp system and produces
approximately 1696kWh/year.
If you use 50% of the electricity produced then you will save £100-£130/Year
and receive £700 Feed-in-Tariff. So a total of £800-£830/year.
If we assume electricity rises by 3%/year and FITs do also we get
a total payback figure of £29248-£30175 which is an 8%
return on investment i.e. a 10 year payback of initial capital.
We only install the best quality panels and equipment so that you
can have faith that the equipment we install, will work as expected
and, should anything fail within the warranty period, be able to simply
get the items replaced, without any problem. We would normally specify
the likes of Mitsubishi, Sanyo, Schott and SMA Sunnyboy inverters.

A well fitted PV system will add value to your property as everyone
comes to realise that your house is considerably cheaper to run than
an equivalently sized house without a panel system.
